Cara Konfigurasi BackboneFast di Switch Cisco GNS3

Tool ini HANYA dipake di PVST untuk improve convergence (di RSTP udah built-in)

Backbonefast fungsinya biar klo link ke ROOT BRIDGE mati, mereka langsung kirim BPDU ke alternate/blocked port trus sama switch penerima BPDU tersebut langsung ngirim RLQ (root link query) message untuk nyari siapa yang jadi Root Bridge selanjutnya (skip 20 second of max_age timer that cause other non-Root bridge become root-bridge itself).

Konfigurasi Bacbone fast di semua swith
 
S1#configure

S1(config)#spanning-tree backbonefast


Verifikasi dimasing-masing switch.

S1#show spanning-tree backbonefast
BackboneFast is enabled

Lalu testing PING dari PC-2 ke PC-1, dan lihat perbedaan dengan mengaktifkan Backbonefast dengan tidak,

Lalu ping dari PC-2 ke PC-1 kemudian shutdown port eth0/1 pada S3, lalu buka S1,S2,S3 dan S4 perhatikan ada pesan dari hasil debugnya, sambil. dan perhatikan berapa lama RTO nya..
